What is wrong with these Raptors? Losing to a Ben Wallace-less Detroit Pistons team last night is unacceptable. When are they going to learn that success happens when they have Jalen Rose post up inside or they throw the ball to Donyell Marshall inside or they have Vince Carter drive inside and go to the hoop(and actually finish a shot). When 2 of these 3 things happen they have success and usually win the game. When they don’t? Well….the second half of last night is evidence enough. For whatever reason the Raptors are content on shooting 3 pointers. Which isn’t bad, but when it’s you’re singular offensive strategy that’s when you’re in trouble. Because when they’re cold, which is more than half the nights, those misses for 3 creates long rebounds. And those long rebounds creates fast-break oppourtunities for the opposing team, which in turn leads to easy points. The Raptors aren’t talented enough defensively to give up easy points.

I hate to say this, but the worst thing to have happen was for the Raps to have that winning streak after the big trade. We won games by shooting out of our minds and adrenaline. Both have worn off now, but the players still believe that they can still play like that. And that’s why the Raps are so inconsistent. I hate to say this but it will take a severe losing slump for the team to abandon the 3pt shootout philosophy and start to listen and BELIEVE what coach Kevin O’Neill is preaching. Until then, hang on and enjoy the ride if it doesn’t make you throw up in your mouth like last night’s performance against the Pistons did to me.
