Quick question, did you ever hate something/someone because someone you hate or someone you love likes them/it? For example…I hate Omar Epps because my ex loved him off. I will not pay money to see a movie with him in it…sad but true...

1. Let us assume you met a rudimentary magician. Let us assume he can do five simple tricks-he can pull a rabbit out of his hat, he can make a coin disappear, he can turn the ace of spades into the Joker card, and the two other tricks follow in a similar vein. These are his only tricks and he can’t learn any more: he can only do these five. HOWEVER, it turns out he’s doing these five tricks with real magic. It’s not an illusion; he can actually conjure the bunny out of the ether and he can mo...

I have to hand it to Tom Donahue(Bills’ GM), he showed guts and made the sensible decision to cut Drew Bledsoe. Even though I think it was one year too late, he still did what had to be done. The cutting of Drew Bledsoe was done for a few reasons. #1 Salary cap relief. Though he will still count against the cap, he won’t count as much if they released him before training camp. #2 Performance. He’s over the hill, he can’t make the short throws and hardly ever makes the long throws. H...

This blog was to be posted in the fall of 2004. Which of the following reasons would cause you to stop buying/wearing a jersey??? 1. Former icon cheats on his wife, is accused of rape, names names, and avoids jail time. 2. Former icon runs one of the best coaches ever out of town. A coach who once helped develop the greatest basketball player of all time. 3. Former icon runs one of the five best centers ever out of town. 4. Former icon gets into spat with Hall of Famer regardin...

As much as I try to hate the New York Yankees, there is one reason why I can’t. Derek Jeter. Last night was the last game in the series between the Yankees and Red Sox. The Yankees had won the first 2 games and were going for the sweep with rookie Brad Halsey on the mound. The Red Sox countered with Pedro Martinez. The first two games were very intense so you expected the third to be the same as well. Well, it was intense alright. Not only was it intense, it was probably the greatest regu...

Being the fun-loving guy that I am, I have decided to compile a list of who I think are the ten most unlucky players in recent NHL history. Here they are, and remember these are recent NHL history, so some of these players may be retired: 10) Eric Lindros- Even though sometimes he asks for it, Eric has had more concussions than I can count on my fingers and toes. He seems to just go out to play one game, then announces a concussion and doesn't play ten more games. 9) Brent Gretzky...

It's not so much that I'm a Spurs fan, it's more than that I'm a Lakers hater. I'll admit it….I can't stand Karl Malone, GP has too big of a mouth and it's karma that his skills have fell off so rapidly that he's getting abused by mediocre PG's(Parker excluded). I actually like Shaq more now than I did say 2 or 3 yrs ago, but I truly can't stand Kobe. So it caused me great joy to see the Lakers blow a 12 point lead in the last 5 mins of the 4th quarter and allow Tim Duncan to fluke the Spu...

A few weeks ago Bill Simmons of ESPN Page 2 fame, put out a list of The Most Tortured Sports Cities. For the most part I agreed with his list, so there really wasn't much I could say in addition to it. But! I have come up with a list of my own, The Most Tortured Sports Fans. Just about every major city has one sports team that hasn't done anything of significance recently. So it's my job to point them out and laugh uncontrollably.... These teams are listed in no particular order:...

I’m not going to lie. I did turn off the TV when the Raptors were losing by 16 to the Golden State Warriors to start the 4th quarter. But then the impossible and improbable happened. The Raptors played defense and it actually worked. They played defense and prevented a team from scoring at will. They played such shutdown defense that they held Golden State to 2 points in the 4th quarter. And that swarming defense sent the game into overtime where the Raptors won 84 – 81, on a last second 3poi...

Not only did Janet Jackson reveal something, the NFL did as well. It showed how beautiful this game can be. From rainbow like deep balls to draws up the middle. From perfect rollouts to evade the pass rush to perfectly timed slant patterns down the middle. From multiple F-bombs on national TV to cheap shots to the opponent’s head. This game was explosive in every way, you couldn’t ask for more. Unfortunately that was my summarization after the game. Earlier on in the evening as I was sitting...

Did you wathc ESPN classic Canada last night? I'm not sure if you get it or not. But anyways. They showed Game 2 of the NBA Finals between the Bulls and Suns. What a game!!!! Whatching basketball being played back then makes you realize what crap the NBA is serving these days. And this was only 10 yrs ago. What has changed this?? Well I do know and I'm sure you do too so I won't get into it. If there was any worry in my mind about Kobe's ascension to MJ's crown, it has been vanquished. It's a...

Right now the Toronto Raptors are on a 3 game losing streak which has sunk them to an even win/loss record and 6th place for the Eastern Conference playoffs. The cause of this streak? The Raptors obvious lack of depth inside. With Michael Curry going on the IR and Robert Archibald hurt, they are in desperate need of a big man. Yes I know Jerome Moiso is on the bench ready to play but Coach Kevin O’Neill doesn’t find him adequate enough to play minimal minutes. Whether that’s right or wrong is no...

There’s a current trend going on in the NHL. A trend that is not only irresponsible but also reckless and dangerous. Is it hitting from behind? No, that trend seems to have lost its steam. Is it knee on knee hitting? No, that trend also lost its steam, mostly because of the dangers for the aggressor as well as the victim. The latest trend right now is high sticking to faces of NHL players. Ladislav Nagy has gone down, Owen Nolan has gone down, Darcy Tucker has gone down, and these incident...

Kevin Gilbride will no longer be offensive coordinator of the Buffalo Bills. That’s the best news I’ve heard in quite a while. The new head coach of the Buffalo Bills, Mike Mularky will bring his own offensive coordinator, Tom Clements with him. Hopefully Clements can take what weapons the Bills have and use them to their outmost capabilities. But we’ll see… I really don’t like or dislike the choice of Mike Mularky (I giggle every time I say his name). I have no feeling about him one way ...

What is wrong with these Raptors? Losing to a Ben Wallace-less Detroit Pistons team last night is unacceptable. When are they going to learn that success happens when they have Jalen Rose post up inside or they throw the ball to Donyell Marshall inside or they have Vince Carter drive inside and go to the hoop(and actually finish a shot). When 2 of these 3 things happen they have success and usually win the game. When they don’t? Well….the second half of last night is evidence enough. For whateve...
